How Facelifts Can Target Different Facial Areas

A rhytidectomy or facelift is a cosmetic procedure that takes years off your appearance by lifting and tightening the skin on your face. Depending on your chosen procedure, a facelift can improve the appearance of different facial areas. At Amavi Aesthetic Surgery we offer many non-invasive facelift options for individuals wanting to avoid going under the knife. Some of our facelift alternatives include Sculptra, Radiofrequency, Microneedling, and FaceTite. Dr. Rau can explain the options and help you choose the best procedure for your needs. Learn more about the types of facelifts we offer and the different areas they address.

Surgical Facelifts

What is a Standard Facelift?

A standard facelift targets any area of your face that shows aging signs, including sagging skin. First, the doctor makes incisions behind the hairline. Deep folds and excess sagging skin are removed, tightening the features on your face. A facelift can be performed as a single procedure or combined with an eyelid, brow, or neck lift, which reduces fat and sagging skin. The results are that you look younger and have smoother skin.

The procedure allows the muscles and deep tissue of the forehead, cheeks, lower portion of the jawline, and chin to be tightened and restructured. Additionally, the procedure can also remove the deep folds of skin from either side of the nose to the mouth. A standard facelift is an outpatient procedure under anesthesia. The time required for the procedure may be between three and six hours.

Non-Surgical Facelifts

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler treatment designed to address deep wrinkles occurring below the skin’s surface. Sculptra is formulated with poly-L-lactic acid and is an FDA-approved dermal injectable treatment. This liquid facelift supports your facial structure and stimulates collagen production, causing the face to appear younger.

What is Radiofrequency?

Radiofrequency is a skin-tightening treatment that utilizes heat energy to stimulate the body’s production of collagen, elastin, and new skin cells. This non-surgical facelift helps to tighten the skin and reduce sagging. This treatment is ideal for individuals with mild to moderate levels of aging skin.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an aesthetic treatment designed to increase elastin and collagen production. This treatment penetrates the skin to improve its appearance and overall texture. This can minimize the visibility of wrinkles, fine lines, and other skin insecurities.

What is FaceTite?

FaceTite is a treatment that removes unwanted fatty tissues. This treatment also stimulates collagen production and can help to reduce the appearance of sagging skin, a double chin, and wrinkles.

Is a Facelift Treatment Right For You?

If you’re in your 30s or 40s and show subtle signs of aging, you may consider a facelift treatment. People in the 50 to 60 age bracket may want to consider a more invasive treatment. The procedure you choose depends on what you want to accomplish with the procedure. You can usually start seeing the results of your treatment after about one month.
