SkinPen microneedling uses a small handheld device equipped with tiny needles that puncture the skin’s surface, creating microchannels. Collagen is an important protein that gives the skin structure and a firm texture. During your treatment, Dr. Rau will first cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream to alleviate any discomfort. Next, the SkinPen device will be applied to your skin and carefully moved across the surface to cover the entire treatment area. The procedure can take 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area and the severity of your skin condition.
